Abstract

1357197 Electric correspondence control SIEMENS AG 27 July 1971 [28 July 1970] 35290/71 Heading G1N A control device 6 for controlling the slewing and luffing of a crane 1, comprises desired angle setting members 9, 10 and 11, 12 for luffing and slewing respectively which members are selectively connectable through switch contacts W2, W1 to respective first inputs 14a, 13a of comparison units 14, 13 of which the second inputs 14b, 13b are connected to respective angle detecting means 16, 15 which provide signals indicative of the actual slewing and luffing angles, the differences betweenthe inputs forming signal voltages which are applied to amplifiers 18, 17 controlling through relays 25, 24, switching contactors 21 or 22 and 19 or 20 to energize luffing motor 3a and slewing motor 2a. The operating levers 9a-12a of the members are disposed on a common control board so that the range of rotation of levers 9a, 10a corresponds approximately to the slewing range of the crane jib 3c and the range of rotation of levers 11a, 12a corresponds approximately to the luffing range of the jib. Thus a load pick-up point may be set by lever 9a and load-depositing point by lever 10a for slewing, whilst the load pick-up point for luffing is set by pre-setting a first desire value for the radius of action of the crane by lever 11a, and the load-depositing point at a second radius of action by lever 12a. The speed of slewing and luffing is determined by the voltages from units 13, 14.
