Abstract

1356070 Electric motors MABUCHI MOTOR CO Ltd 28 April 1972 [31 Jan 1972 (2)] 19833/72 Heading H2A In a miniature electric motor comprising a casing into an open end of which is fitted a non- conductive, e.g. synthetic resin end cover 1 which receives one end of a rotor having a commutator, the latter is engaged at two positions by the bent contact portion 32, 32a of a wire brush 3 of each of a pair of brush assemblies fixed to the end cover. Each assembly comprises the brush 3 and a conductive brush base 2 which has a terminal portion 21 with lugs 21a located in a hexagonal bore 13 in the cover, a fixing portion 22 locked by cover locking projections 15, 15 and the head portion 14a of a holding projection 14, and connecting and holding portions 23, 24 upon which the brush coil portion 31 is mounted. The brush contact portion is biased towards the commutator by engaging a portion 33 in a cut-out 22a. Inside the cover are guide bosses 12 which locate the cover in the casing, and have masts 12a which hold a magnet in the casing.
