Abstract

1355920 Decorative shields or buttons SCOVILL MFG CO 5 Dec 1972 [23 Dec 1971] 56114/72 Heading A3H A two part decorative shield or button assembly comprises an eyelet 12 having a tubular projection 14 and a plate 22 having a projecting dome 26 which cooperates with the projection 14 after the eyelet has pierced the fabric. Two opposing sides of the plate 22 are bent upwardly and inwardly to define a pair of flanges 30 which are spaced from the dome 26 to form a circular aperture to receive the projection 14 and under which the ends of the projection 14 are held. Concentric, arcuate ribs 28 are formed in the plate 22 to act as spacing ribs for the flanges 30 and are preferably arranged so that the end of the projection 14 abut them. The plate 22 has a decorative facing 24 attached to it by inwardly bent end tabs 34.
