Abstract

1355184 Distribution boxes; Ceiling roses; wiring installations CREDA ELECTRIC Ltd 3 Sept 1971 [11 June 1970] 28318/70 Headings H2E and H2H An electric wiring system, Fig. 2, comprises a series of electrical service fittings to which electrical fittings such as ceiling roses, lamp holders LP1-LP6, sockets SKT1-SKT4, and associated switches SW1-SW6 can be mechanically attached and is characterized in that prior to the insertion of the system in a building the service fittings are physically attached to cables to form a prewired system, one of said service fittings acting as a distribution box for the system, said distribution box (Fig. 1) including a coverplate 22, to which is attached the terminal block 15, and the cover-plate being attached to a box part 10 by use of a spring loaded bayonet connection 14, 22b, 28, 28a, 29. The cover-plate has holes 25 for attaching a ceiling rose and the hole 26 allows passage of a cable for a light. The box part 10 which when installed may be embedded in concrete includes knock-outs 11 for the cables to the other service fittings. All the other service fittings may be individually connected directly to the terminal box or alternatively some of them may be directly connected to other fittings, e.g. service fittings for the attachment of lights may be connected directly with the service fittings for the corresponding switches.
