Abstract

1354942 Selective signalling ZELLWEGER Ltd 18 May 1971 [2 June 1970] 15463/71 Heading G4H In a remote-control system having a plurality of receivers connected to an electricity energy distribution network, a command is formed by a combination of two (or more) commands transmitted one after another as modulations of a single carrier frequency to all the receivers. For ripple control, commands are transmitted as A.C. impulses superimposed on the mains supply, these being converted to D.C. at the receiver, recognition of the first command of a combination pulsing a monostable to open a gate so that the second command of the combination, if present, can be recognized. If it is, the control function is performed. Using 100 basic commands, 10,000 combinations can be obtained. Some receivers may only respond to the basic commands used separately.
