Abstract

1354755 Pulse radar MARCONI CO Ltd 1 Sept 1971 [2 Sept 1970] 40719/71 Heading H4D In apparatus for measuring distance to two ground beacons simultaneously a pulse-modulated transmitter and a receiver are connected to a common aerial through a transmit-receive filter, two beacon coding means are connected to a modulator (each comprising a pulse generator, a channel selector and an interrogation coder), two reply recognition units are connected in parallel to the receiver each being connected to a corresponding distance-measuring unit, and distance indicator means and beacon identification means are provided. The latter may be a decoder responsive to beacon identification signals and producing a corresponding aural output, the decoder being connected to both reply recognition units through a changeover switch. The distance indicator means may comprise two separate digital indicators or a switched single indicator. The beacon coding means may operate at different repetition frequencies.
