Abstract

1354254 Photographic apparatus RANK XEROX Ltd 14 Feb 1972 6707/72 Heading G2A A scanning device for scanning a stationary object placed on a platen 9 so as to present a moving image of the object at a scanning slit 7 comprises a multiplicity of mirrors mounted for movement relative to one another along parallel paths and arranged in conjunction with a fixed lens 1 to project said image, the first mirror being driven at a speed equal to twice the sum of the speeds of all the other mirrors. As shown, mirror 3 is the first mirror, and two other movable mirrors 4, 5 are provided, the device being used for one-to-one copying on to a moving sensitivie surface 8. For reduction of magnification, the lens is repositioned, and the scanning speeds of the movable mirrors adjusted in inverse ratio to the speed of the surface 8.
