1353606 Measuring speed of rotation electrically ASSOCIATED ENG Ltd 6 Aug 1971 [21 May 1970] 24758/70 Heading G1N In a transducer for generating electrical pulses at a frequency proportional to the rotary speed of a shaft 19, a Hall effect device 10 is periodically exposed to and shielded from the field of a magnet 13. In Fig. 2, the magnet and Hall effect device are both fixed, and a soft iron disc 20 having apertures 21 or a castellated periphery rotates with shaft 19. The magnet may be permanent or electro. The Hall effect device may be metal foil or semi-conductor.
