Abstract

1352401 Coated particles VYCHODOCESKE CHEMICKE ZAVODY SYNTHESIA 1 July 1971 [3 July 1970] 30780/71 Headings C1A and C1N [Also in Division B2] Inorganic material is hydrophobized by heating the material to a temperature of not less than 200‹ C. in a vessel and introducing a macromolecular organosiloxane in the liquid state into the vessel so that the macromolecular organosiloxane is thermally decomposed in situ in the vessel, contacts the organic material and froms a hydrophobic layer on the surface of the inorganic material. Preferably at least 0À01% by weight of the organosiloxane relative to the inorganic material is present in the vessel. Materials which may be treated are titanium white, kieselguhr, inorganic fibres, glass and ceramics.
