1352355 Controlling push-pull cables SOC ANON FRANCAISE DU FERODO 19 April 1971 [9 March 1970] 23532/71 Heading B7E [Also in Divisions F4 and H1] A control device for an automobile air conditioning system comprises manually operable actuating elements each carried by a respective carriage which is mounted for movement along a common plate through balls carried by the carriage. In the form shown, the plate 10 carries at least two parallel guide rods 23, 113 along each of which at least one carriage 24, 114 is slidable. The carriages respectively operate (a) a Bowden cable for a shutter which controls distribution of air upwardly or downwardly into the passenger space; (b) a set of discrete contacts for controlling a resistance box in series with a variable speed fan motor; (c) Bowden cables for controlling the thermostat of a refrigerator compressor and a thermostatic cock of an air heater and a cam for operating vacuum switches which control pneumatic jacks. Conditioned air is supplied above the fascia and to the lower region of the front and rear of the passenger space. Untreated air is also supplied.
