Abstract

1352227 Radio signalling; conference arrangements LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-GmbH 19 April 1971 [10 April 1970] 26609/71 Headings H4K and H4L In a communication system in which calling subscribers transmit the coded identity of a called station and modulate this identity signal with coded communication signals one identity code is reserved for conference calls, each station being adapted to respond to its own code and to the conference code and if it receives the conference code while engaged in a call to alert the subscriber. A subscriber wishing to initiate a conference transmits the conference code and modulates this code with the identities of the parties to be involved. Each subscriber involved including the calling subscriber then transmits their own code and code modulate this with outgoing speech signals. All called stations are tuned to the code of the calling subscriber. The calling station is arranged to receive signals from any called subscriber who is speaking modulated on that subscriber identity and to modulate the received speech on to his own identity for the benefit of the remaining called subscribers. The transmission medium may be an R.F. carrier.
