1352024 2-Phenyl-benzotriazole-5-isothiocyanates CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 30 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 12507/71 Heading C2C Novel 2-phenyl-benzotriazole-5-isothiocyanates of the general formula wherein R is a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a methyl or methoxy group and R<SP>1</SP> is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, are prepared by treatment of a 2-phenyl-5-amino-benzotriazole of the general formula with thiophosgene in a suspension comprising water and a solvent which is immiscible with water and possesses a higher mass density than water, and in the presence of a base.
