Abstract
1351734 Connecting ship's hull sections LITHGOWS Ltd 1 July 1971 [8 April 1970] 16793/70 Heading B7S A U section channel in three parts W, H, W is sealed to a pair of hull sections A to facilitate welding together of the hull sections. Fig. 2 shows a cross-section on line II-II of Fig. 1, with resilient sealing strips 41 and distance pieces 27, contacting the hull 13, and with supports 45, 46 passing between the hull sections to lifting gear 47, 61 which is used to locate the part H after its buoyancy tanks 43 have been blown. Further seals (69) are provided to seal together the ends of the sections H and W (Fig. 3, not shown). The Specification describes in detail the method of assembling the device on the hull sections.
