Abstract

1351594 Smoke generating compositions ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 28 April 1971 [30 Jan 1970] 4595/70 Heading C1D A composition for generating coloured smoke comprises a combustible starch, an oxidant for the starch, a volatile stable dye, and urea and/or ammonium chloride as a combustion moderator. The starch may be maize starch containing less than 10% moisture, the oxidant sodium or potassium chlorate, and the dye phenyl - azo - # - naphthol, quinophthalone, 1,4 - di(amylamido) - anthraquinone, 2 - methoxy - benzene - azo - 2 - hydroxynaphthalene, 2 - naphthalene - azo - 2 - hydroxynaphthalene, or 2 - chlorobenzene - azo - 2 - hydroxynaphthalene.
