Abstract

1349971 Air filter DAVIS INDUSTRIAL (EQUIPMENT) Ltd 14 July 1972 [14 July 1971] 32968/71 Heading BIT An air filter comprises a flat filter element 16, e.g. of polyurethane foam supported by grids 17 of wire mesh (Figs. 2) or 20 of plastics material (Fig. 4). The periphery of the filter element is surrounded by a channel shaped sealing member 13 which may be itself formed of polyurethane foam. The edges of the support grids 17 and 20 and of the filter element 16 are received in the channels of the sealing member and the ends of the support grids are turned over to form prongs 19 or 23 which secure the filter and support grids within the channels. The filter unit so formed may be mounted for use in opposed channel-shaped guides 10.
