Abstract

1349178 Steam separators and superheaters; heat exchange elements ENERGIAGAZDALKODASI INTEZET 21 Sept 1971 [21 Sept 1970] 44055/71 Headings F4A and F4S Apparatus for drying and superheating steam comprises a moisture separating means 1, which may be made of wire mesh, connected directly to a laminar-flow heat exchanger 2, the moisture separator and heat exchanger both having a depth in the steam flow direction smaller than the maximum dimension transverse to the flow and both having the same flow cross-section. The heat exchanger is made up of a number of elongated bodies arranged side by side with slits in their sides which define very narrow flow passages 3 for the steam, the bodies having passages 4 extending through them for the heating medium which is hot steam. A number of units each comprising a separator 1 and heat exchanger 2 are arranged in parallel within a cylindrical enclosure 5. Baffles 6 direct steam from a receiving chamber 7 through the units to a collecting chamber 8. A drain for water separated in the separators is also provided.
