Abstract

1348718 Fluid pressure-relieving devices BUEHLER A G Gebr 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970 7 Sept 1970] 24536/71 Heading F1D A pressure-relieving device, Fig. 2, comprises a cover 20' having a peripheral resilient ring 11 which is grooved to receive the inner periphery of an orifice in a housing containing a pressurized chamber. The side of cover 20' remote from the chamber is connected by straps 21, 25, pivoted at 22, to the housing 1'. If excess pressure builds up in the chamber the force on cover 20' forces the resilient ring 11 out of engagement with the orifice. In a further embodiment, Fig. 5, a cover 103 is hingedly connected at 106 to the housing, and when the orifice 102 is closed by the cover 103 and spring loaded detent 113 attached to cover 103 engages a recessed bracket 131 on the housing. A further rod 150 is pivoted at 142 to the housing and slidably projects through a sleeve 146 attached to cover 103. When the cover 103 is blown open the sleeve 146 abuts against spring means 155, 157 which thus reduce the speed of the cover 103 to zero. Further embodiments similar to that of Fig. 2 are shown in Figs. 1. 3 and 4, (not shown), and Figs. 6 and 7, (not shown) illustrate embodiments employing the principles of Fig. 5.
