1348202 Toys with moving parts A JACOB1 17 April 1972 [20 April 1971] 17601/72 Heading A6S A toy comprises a frame 1 on which are pivoted bars 2 at such a distance from each other that when the first is tilted from the upright position shown it falls over, hits the next which also falls over, and so on. The bars 2 are secured by pivots 3 between the sidewalls 1a, 1b of the frame 1, and each carries an angle bracket 4 which prevents turning in the anti-clockwise direction. As shown the frame 1 is straight, but it may alternatively be curved, so that several such frames may be assembled to form a circle or S-shape Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). In another form, the bars (5), Fig. 4 (not shown) are pivoted on a plate (6) carrying to one side parallel musical strings (8). Each bar (5) carries a laterally extending striker (9) which hits a string as the bar falls over, to make a musical noise. In yet another form, bars pivot between the parallel sides (12), Fig. 5 (not shown), of a frame, extending both above and below the frame, the major portion of each bar extending through and below the frame while the minor but weightier part extends above the frame. In an extension of this form, a second set of bars, parallel to the first, is pivoted in a frame (15a), Figs. 6, 7 (also not shown). The end bar of the second set of bars carries a rod (18) extending laterally into the first set of bars. Thus tilting of the second set of bars is transmitted to the first set of bars, so that they also tilt. The bars 2, &c of the various embodiments may be connected by a string pulled to re-erect them once they have tilted to the downwards position, or alternatively they may be re-erected by turning the toy upside-down.
