Abstract

1347473 Mounting rotating parts on shafts ERIE TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTS Inc 27 May 1971 [3 April 1970] 15992/70 Heading F2U [Also in Division H1] To locate a drive shaft 11 axially relative to a drive sleeve 12 a plurality of balls 15 are each located partly in an annular groove 13 in the shaft 11 and partly in one of a plurality of apertures in the sleeve 12. A bearing sleeve 16 which forms part of a casing 1 prevents the balls escaping, and circlips 17 locate the sleeve relatively to the casing 1 by engaging grooves in the sleeve 12. The shaft H drives wipers 6, 10 of one potentiometer and the sleeve 12 drives wipers 5, 9 of a second potentiometer. The potentiometers have a moulded track resistors 3, 4 and collector tracks 7, 8.
