1346493 Massage devices MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC WORKS Ltd 6 May 1971 [13 May 1970 (3)] 13396/71 Heading A5R A belt-type massage device comprises a body frame A, a foot base B pivotally mounted at one end on a lower part 18 of the frame, a motor 5 in a housing (7), Fig. 2 (not shown), a pair of swinging links 12 mounted to the upper part of the frame, coupling rods 13 for swinging the pair alternately with rotation of the motor, and a massaging belt (c) engaged with the pair of links for transmitting vibrations to the human body. In operation the foot base B is positioned on the floor in a slanting position and a supporting frame 22 placed against a stop 16. The belt (c), engaged at both ends via members (26) with a pair of link pins 11 1-3 on swinging links 12, is applied to that part of the patient's body to be massaged while standing on the foot base B. The rotation of the operating motor 5 causes a pair of eccentric rings 6, fixed at the ends of a shaft 4, to rotate eccentrically and create swinging motion of the links 12 through the coupling rods 13. This moves the links 12 alternately about the link shaft (3) and thereby vibrates the belt (c). Vibrating motions of different amplitudes may be generated by coupling the belt to any single pair of link pins 11 1-3 . After use the supporting frame 22 is removed from stop 16, rotated into the frame A with base B and shaft rod 19, and the device carried on wheels 20 to a storage place..
