Abstract

1344029 Cartridge-type tape recorders MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 4 Oct 1972 [7 Oct 1971 (2)] 45759/72 Heading G5R For fast forward running, the movable contact 4a of a switch 4 is engaged with contact 4c and the movable contact 10a of an associated switch 10 is thereby caused to engage contact 10c, so that shorting of sensing contacts 6 by a conductive foil on the magnetic tape 5 causes a solenoid 9 to eject the cartridge. The foil also completes a circuit for a track-changing solenoid 7 which at each operation steps a rotary switch 12, causing operation of the cartridge-ejecting solenoid 9 after completion of a predetermined track (track IV as shown) during recording or playback with the switches 4, 10 engaging contacts 4b, 10b as shown. The solenoid 9 may be operated at any time by manual closure of a switch 8.
