Abstract

1342902 Impact pulverizers D R G PACKAGING 28 June 1971 ][4 July 1970 10 Dec 1970] 32501/70 and 58650/70 Heading B2A An impact pulverizer comprises a rotor 5 having a plurality of blades and arranged to rotate in a polygonal chamber 4 which has a tangential outlet for crushed material. Feed is against the side of the rotor via an inlet chute 8 having a pair of spring loaded flaps 9 and a resilient strip curtain 10 across it to prevent egress of the crushed material, and in particular broken glass, during operationthe rotor may be a disc with blades 7 arranged radially on one side, driven by an electric motor 6 in a polygonal housing 3 defining the chamber 4. The outlet is a horizontal spout 11 with an underside opening 13 and deflector 14 opening into a receptacle, e.g. a valve sack. The housing 3, chute 8 and spout 11 are carried by a spring loaded support member 15..17 which coacts with a switch 21 when a sack is sufficiently full to actuate an alarm and/or cut off the drive motor. The spring load is adjusted by a bolt 20, and the switch 21 is screw adjustable.
