Abstract

1341734 Dressing ceramic ware A HABER 22 April 1971 [27 April 1970] 10665/71 Heading C1H A machine for deburring fired ceramic ware comprises a rotatable lifting head 3 which lifts ceramic ware from a conveyer 1 against a chuck 9 carried on a periodically driven shaft 10. One or more dressing heads carry flat or curved tool bits (57 and 88 respectively) supported so that as the rotating ware rises the bit moves upwardly and outwardly from the spindle so as to follow the contour of the ware and dress its surface. The tool bit 57 is pivoted about the axis 53 on an arm 52 which is in turn pivoted at 51 about a leg 44. The bit 57 is urged downwardly by a compressed coil spring 59 which acts on a yoke 54 which is fastened at the pivots 51 and 53. A bit positioner, pivotably mounted on the stub pin 53 and comprising a link 62 connected by a chain 64 to the member 46, holds the bit 57 with its contact edge facing downward.
