1341197 Question and answer teaching machines M D J MORGAN 30 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 18930/70 Heading G5G A question and answer teaching apparatus comprises a memory disc 13 rotatable relative to a cover 14 which obscures answer workings 22 in or on the disc, each angular position of the disc corresponding to a respective question of a set, and a plurality of indicator devices such as lamps 19 each identified with a respective one of a range of possible answers whereby an indication is given to the user of whether his choice of answer is right or wrong. The lamps are actuated by pressing a selected one of switches 21, the light being visible through a window or opening 16 in the cover 14 if an aperture 22 in the disc 13 is in alignment. A holder 20 is provided for a set of 50 question and answer cards. Further lamps may be connected in parallel with lamps 19 for remote monitoring of a plurality of machines at a central location. The disc 13 may be inverted or replaced. In a modification (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) for use by blind students a set of plungers are mounted on the cover for depression through apertures in the memory disc to close contacts to operate a buzzer. The questions may be presented in braille or orally. In a further modification (Fig. 5, not shown) which is simply made from two discs of card material the indicator devices comprise hinged flaps 343 which are selectively raised to reveal printed markings on or apertures in the memory disc 313.
