Abstract

1340562 Treating coated TiO 2 DOWUNQUINESA SA 4 Jan 1971 [8 Jan 1970] 342/71 Heading C1N Pigmentary TiO 2 is coated with one or more hydrous oxides, washed with water, reslurried with water, heated at a temperature of at least 50‹ C. for at least 15 mins., dried, and milled. The pigment may be washed with hot water, e.g. at 35-80‹ C., on a rotary filter. Deionized or distilled water may be used for washing and slurrying. Heating may be carried out at 50-100‹ C., and the pigment may then again be washed on a rotary filter.
