1340484 Recovery of palm oil J L R KIRKALDY 12 Jan 1971 [4 Nov 1969] 53914/69 Heading C5C Palm oil is recovered by pressing the pulp of palm fruit and while pressing adding a solvent that is immiscible or substantially immiscible with water, e.g. trichlor-ethylene or hexane. The solvent from the press passes to a still where it is distilled in steam and condensed for re-use. The pressing may be in a screw press of variable pitch.
