1340322 Uses of luminescence UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 19 April 1971 [4 Dec 1969] 59363/69 Addition to 1281991 Heading C4S A method and apparatus for storing information are as in the parent Specification utilizing as the phosphor, LiF : U; NaF : U or Ce; KMgF 3 : Mn; or MgF 2 : Mn. Activator concentrations are exemplified. Potassium magnesium fluoride operates in reverse fashion to potassium iodide (:Te), emits at 600 nm, and may be made by melting and drawing. The other materials are prepared by heating in a Pt crystal near the m.p. of the host material, and then ground.
