Abstract
1338952 Unsaturated aliphatic dinitriles RHONE-POULENC SA 8 June 1971 [9 June 1970 11 May 1971] 19503/71 Heading C2C An unsaturated aliphatic dinitrile e.g. 1,4- dicyano-butadiene-1,3 is prepared by passing a gas mixture comprising benzene, ammonia and molecular oxygen (or a molecular oxygen-containing gas) at a temperature of 200-600‹ C., at a pressure equal to or greater than atmospheric pressure over a catalyst known to be capable of catalysing the ammoxidation of propylene or alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons. In Examples the catalysts contained (1) Mo, (2) Mo, P and Al, (3-7) V, Mo and Al, (8) V and Al, (9-11) as 3, (12) Mo and Al, (13) W and Al, (14-16) as 3, (17) Mo, Bi and P, (18) Fe and Sb, (19) Sn and Sb, (20) U and Sb.
