Abstract
1337996 Electro-photographic copiers AGFA-GEVAERT A G 10 Dec 1970 [10 Dec 1969] 58711/70 Heading G2H Removal of a developing system 12 from a copier 1 causes a scoop conveyor 24 to be driven in the reverse direction for a short time so as to prevent toner from spilling out of the top scoops. As shown, manual anti-clockwise rotation of a handle 46 shifts a crank 44 and levers 50, 53 to cause a pin 49 to move along c slot 48 and strike an edge 12b of system 12 moving the system slightly to the left. When pin 49 reaches the top of slot 48, system 12 can be manually removed using handle 79. Movement of crank 44 also causes a cam 44a thereon to close a switch 56 which, via a motor circuit Fig.3 (not shown), drives conveyor 24 in the reverse direction for a short time. A removable cleaning system 16 comprises a web 32 passing from a reel 35 to a reel 34 via a pressure roll 36. In order to prevent removal of the photo-conductive drum 3 while the developing system and band 32 are in position, the removal path of the drum is obstructed by handle 46 until the handle is rotated anti-clockwise to move the developing system and, via the crank 44, a lever 43, pin 42 and lever 39, to move the pressure roll 36 away from the drum. System 12 has rollers 30, 31 which accurately position the system with respect to the drum and are rotated by the drum. Conveyor 24 may be a belt, chain or worm.
