Abstract

1337583 Optical brighteners CIBA-GEIGY (UK) Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970 9 July 1970 24 March 1971] 14202/70 33419/70 and 29106/71 Heading D1P [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] In example 15 pieces of bleached immercised cotton sateen are treated with an optical brightener compound of formula: wherein X and Y may be the same or different and each represents a mono- or di-substtaited amino, alkoxy or morpholino group and M represents hydrogen, an alkali metal or an amine salt, the brightener being disposed in a slurry having certain stated viscosities. Example 16 relates to a brightener composition containing sodium perborate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, an enzyme, sodium sulphate and sodium dodecylbenzenesulphonate.
