1337406 Selective printing PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 2 Dec 1970 [3 Dec 1969] 57201/69 Heading B6F [Also in Division G4] A document has a number of pre-printed horizontal areas for the insertion of digits, each area consisting of one or more blocks of five adjacent pre-printed spaces, each space containing two pre-printed digits, the ten digits in a given block being all different. Data digits are then each inserted (handwritten or printed) in one of the spaces already containing it in pre-printed form. Automatic recognition is then done on the basis of the shape and position. Various layouts for the digits are given. Printing of data digits can be done using a type cylinder having (only) the digits 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,- 8,9 in circumferential positions 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 respectively in columns 5,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5 respectively.
