Abstract

1337392 Beverage making VENDOPS Ltd 19 April 1971 [6 March 1970] 10777/70 Heading A4E Beverage infusion apparatus comprises a piston 1 in a sleeve 17 having a narrow portion and a wider portion connected by a tapered portion. The piston is slidable from the narrow to the wider portion so that fluid may flow past the piston at the tapered portion. Filter paper from a roll (28) is supported on platform 21 held on a base unit 19 by springs 25. The cross-arm 5 which moved in slot 6 engages rods (8), (9) which are connectedtodriveshaft 12. In use hot water and tea is introduced into the cylinder for infusion. Shaft 12 is rotated by a motor and cam 20 raises the filter against the bottom of the sleeve. At the same time the piston is raised and the infused beverage flows down through the filter and out through nozzle 23. A fresh charge of hot water may then be introduced to clean the piston. Further rotation of the cam 20 advances the filter and it is cut-off by a blade.
