Abstract
1337255 Measuring adsorbtivity or absorbtivity DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 27 Nov 1970 [10 Dec 1969] 60224/69 Headings G1N and G1S A method of testing an absorbent material or a filter containing such a material comprises passing an inert carrier fluid through the material or filter injecting into the carrier fluid at least one small discrete amount of one or more test agents, obtaining a measure of the concentration of the test agents or agents in the influent and effluent fluids and obtaining therefrom a measure of the absorbtivity of the material or of the filter. The bed may be of charcoal, the fluid, air, and the test agent selected from chlorobenzene dibromobutane bromobutane and trichlorethylene. The concentration in the effluent may be determined using a "positive ion" halogen detector, ionisation detector electron captive detector, radio active tracer method or a chemical method.
