Abstract
1335567 Positionally adjustable injection nozzle K AOKI 9 Dec 1970 [9 Dec 1969 25 March 1970] 58486/70 Heading B5A The invention relates to apparatus, Figs. 2 and 3, of the type in which a pair of injection moulds are mounted on a plate 2 for horizontal reciprocation between positions in which one of the moulds 4<SP>1</SP> is clamped by an hydraulic ram 13 within a clamping structure 11 for injection of plastics material from a nozzle 15, whilst the other mould 4 is outside the structure 11 for the moulded article 34 to be ejected, by a plate 33, from an upper mould part 4b which is raised and lowered from a lower mould part 4a by hydraulic rams 31a, supported on the plate 2 and acting on a plate 5 carrying the mould part 4b. The ram 13 may be actuated downwardly to effect clamping from a cylinder 12, and may be raised by a piston rod 19 of an hydraulic power cylinder 20. The reciprocation of the plate 2 is effected, along rails 16, from an hydraulic cylinder 17 formed within the structure 11, According to the invention, Figs. 6 and 7, injection is effected at the horizontal parting line of the mould parts, which as shown are clamped by an upwardly acting ram, with the injection nozzle being vertically adjustable with respect to the structure 11 for injection into moulds of differing height of the mould opening into which injection is effected. The vertical adjustability is effected at four shafts 71, 71<SP>1</SP> non- rotatably fixed to support the injection moulding machine and which are screw-threaded for simultaneous vertical displacement, by threaded members provided with sprockets 72, 72<SP>1</SP> which are engaged by a driving chain 73 and with one of the members, 72, being rotated from a drive 75 by a worm and gear 74.
