1335531 Hydroformylation JOHNSON MATTHEY & CO Ltd 4 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 55883/69 Addition to 1298331 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] Aldehydes are produced by hydroformylation of olefinically unsaturated compounds in the presence of a catalyst comprising a hydridocarbonylbis(trisubstituted phosphine, arsine or stibine) rhodium compound or a hydrocarbonyltris(trisubstituted phosphine, arsine or stibine) rhodium compound, the catalyst being supported on a carrier. An example describes the preparation of butyraldehyde from propylen in the presence of hydridocarbonylbis(triphenylphosphine) rhodium (I) on alumina.
