Abstract

1334965 Handling drums MANFRID DREHER KG 4 Oct 1971 [16 June 1971] 46112/71 Heading B8H Drums 18, 19 to be filled or emptied are transferred from a pair of rollers 16 on to a support 30 by a lever device 74. The rollers 16 are of a length to receive the drums 1 8, 19 end to end and, to enable it to engage the individual drums 18 or 19, the lever device, together with the support 30, is displaceable longitudinally of the rollers 10 for alignment with each drum. In use, a foot-operated portion 82 of the device 74 is depressed and rollers 92, 94 at the other end of the device engage annular projections 20 on the drum which is urged over the roller 16 adjacent the support 30, down a plate 72 and on to the support 30. Projections 24 at the ends of the drum are received in grooves 46 or 48 in side plates 32, 34 of the support. The movement of the drum is aided by driving one of the rollers 16.
