Loose tools and bits, retaining. - A retaining- device for the working tool of a pneumatic hammer or the like comprises a tapered sleeve b of leather, fibre, &c. open at both ends and with or without cut-away parts, and a reinforcing metal casing or framework c, the device being detachably secured in place by straps e or equivalent means. The device shown in Fig. 1 is used with tools having a tapered or rounded extremity, and that shown in Fig. 4 is used with shouldered tools.
