1333634 Detecting flaws magnetically F FORSTER 11 Nov 1971 [11 Feb 1971] 52483/71 Heading G1N In a method of flaw detection, the flaws in a ferromagnetic part are rendered visible by the application of a magnetic powder, the individual particles of which are coated with a thermoplastic material which becomes tacky in a predetermined temperature range and wherein the part is heated sufficiently to cause the coated particles to adhere to each other and/or the workpiece. The coating may additionally contain a fluorescent pigment.
