Abstract

1333498 Phosphorus-containing polysiloxane release compositions NORTON CO 19 April 1971 [24 Feb 1970] 20595/71 Heading C3T [Also in Division B2] A release composition comprises a polydimethylsiloxane containing OH groups and an acid of phosphorus, or a partial ester therof, having an ionization constant less than the first ionization constant of H 3 PO 4 . There may also be present an alkyl silicate and water, and/or a vehicle. The compositions may be applied to the back of strips of polyethylene, polypropylene, tin or aluminium foil, cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose, a polyester or a polyesteramide, the front of which carries a conventional adhesive coating. In examples a mixture of hydroxy polydimethysiloxane, ethyl silicate, phosphorous acid or lauryl acid phosphate, 95% ethanol and ethyl acetate is diluted with ethyl acetate and applied to a cellulose acetate film which is given a conventional adhesive coating on the other face.
