1332928 Gas seals A A BELOUSOY 20 Nov 1970 55222/70 Heading F4B A gas seal for use in a furnace, and in particular in a furnace of the type wherein a rotating disc carries buckets around a vertical heating chamber, comprises two chambers 11 and 12 surrounding either the inlet or outlet passage of the furnace, means 15 for introducing inert gas into the passage via a slot 16 in the lower chamber 11, and means 17 for removing a mixture of inert gas, furnace combustion or heating gas and air via a slot 18 disposed in the upper chamber 12.
