1332904 Compositions comprising picolinic acid derivatives ZAIDAN HOJIN BISEIBUTSU KAGAKU KENKYU KAI 28 Sept 1970 46091/70 Heading A5B Therapeutic compositions in doseage unit form for inhibiting dopamine #-hydroxylase, useful in treating Parkinsonism, comprise an active ingredient selected from 5-butylpicolinic acid (also known as the antibiotic fusaric acid), 5-pentylpicolinic acid, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts (e.g. the calcium salts) of the acids, together with an excipient, the active ingredient being present in an amount of 20 to 100 mg per dosage unit of the composition The composition may be administered orally, rectally, or parenterally in the form of tablets, capsules, elixirs and suppositories.
