133,160. Dugdale, J. Oct. 4, 1918. Artistic modelling.-A pattern box for taking plaster casts of the foot for the production of lasts comprises a base or tray c and sides a, b hinged together. In use, plaster is first placed in the tray c and an impression of the foot obtained with the empty sides a, b closed upon the foot and ankle. This cast is finished off, allowed to dry and coated with shellac &c varnish, after which the foot is again placed in position and a plaster cast obtained in the side a, the side b being filled with pipe clay &c. After finishing off the cast in the side a, the pipe-clay is removed from the side b and a plaster cast obtained in this side. Wires e covered with paper are inserted through the ends of the box and become embedded in the casts.
