Abstract

1331440 Unloading carriages and conveyers by tipping ATO Inc 22 Oct 1970 50211/70 Headings B8A and B8E To ensure smooth unloading of a laterally tipping tray 4 mounted on a carriage 1 connected to similar carriages by chain and running on an endless track, the surface 19 of a cam member 14, where the surface first engages a roller 21 provided at an unloading station, is substantially tangential to the carriage's direction of travel X, 26, Fig. 4. Formulµ for the slope and shape of the remainder of the cam surface are specified but in practice this may be defined by the arc of a circle. The cam member 14 has a portion 18 which causes a latch mechanism to release the tray 4 for tipping. A cam member 13 identical to the member 14 provides tipping in the sense shown in Fig. 2.
