Abstract
1330272 Aminosilicon compounds WACKERCHEMIE GmbH 22 Feb 1972 [16 March 1971] 8143/72 Headings C3S and C3T Novel aminosilicon compounds containing at least 3 silicon-bonded amino groups of the formula =NCH(CH 3 )C 2 H 5 are prepared by reacting a corresponding silicon compound containing at least 3 silicon-bonded chlorine atoms per molecule with sec-butylamine in the absence of water. Preferred compounds are silanes of the formula wherein R denotes a monovalent, optionally substituted, hydrocarbon radical and a is 0 or 1; silazanes of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> denotes hydrogen or and m is 0 or an integer (e.g. of up to 50); and siloxanes of the formula wherein p is 0 or an integer not exceeding 20 The preparation of CH 3 Si[NHCH(CH 3 )C 2 H 5 ] 3 is described. The above compounds may be used to cross-link diorganopolysiloxanes having end groups capable of condensation therewith to provide compositions capable of curing at low temperatures in the presence of atmospheric or added water. Such diorganopolysiloxanes are suitably those of the formula wherein averages from 0À99 to 1À01, y averages from 1À99 to 2À01, (x + y) is 3 and n is an integer of at least 3, as well as alternative compounds in which some or all of the hydroxyl groups have been replaced by other groups which are capable of condensation with SiOH groups. Fillers such as silica may be present.
