Abstract

1329801 Knocking-up devices TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO Ltd 4 Jan 1972 289/72 Heading B8R A knocking-up device for aligning a completed stack of sheets 10 comprises supporting means 12 for the stack and an aligning device 13 movable toward and away from the supporting means. The device 13 comprises a casing 21, Fig. 4, containing four frame members 23a-23d, which are vibratable against the edges of a stack 10, contained within the casing, by means of eccentrics 29a-29d. The position of three of the eccentrics is adjustable to permit the frame members to be adjusted inwardly as the alignment proceeds. Frame members 23a and 23b are perforated to permit air to be blown through the stack during alignment. The stack is moved over the supporting means on belts 11 which are depressed by rollers 14 as the casing descends to leave the stack on the supporting means. Detectors within the casing prevent lowering of the casing when a stack which is too disordered is presented and also cause the vibrating means to be re-actuated if a first period of vibration is insufficient.
