Abstract

1329394 Gain control arrangements NASH & HARRISON Ltd 2 Feb 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 4887/72 Heading H3T An operatinal amplifier comprises D.C. amplifier means, frequency response compensation means connected therewith, feedback means including means for matching the amplifier gain between two levels, and frequency response control means responsive to the gain switching means to change the frequency response compensation means so that the amplifier frequency response is substantially the same and oscillation of the D.C. amplifier is prevented at both levels. The gain of amplifier A is switched by means of a control voltage applied to the gate of field-effect transistor Q5, conduction in the source to drain path of which brings resistor R25 into the feedback network of the amplifier. The control voltage is also applied to the base of a transistor Q1, the collector voltage of which controls the gate bias of a further field effect transistor Q2, conduction in the source to drain path of which short-circuits capacitor C7 in the further feedback network comprising capacitors C5, C7 and resistors R11, R12.
