Abstract

1327214 Simulating percussion instruments electrically EMINENT NV 1 Sept 1970 [1 Sept 1969] 41844/70 Heading G5J Damped oscillations for simulating percussion musical instruments are generated by closing the switch S, Figs. 3 and 5, to complete a resonant circuit and the circuit from the resonant circuit to a load. The oscillations are matched to the desired percussion instrument by suitable choice of L, C and R. When several instruments are to be simulated at different times a corresponding number of circuits of the Fig. 5 type may be combined using a common inductor L. Switches S may be transistors, diodes, gates or relays operated by an auto rhythmn programmer. The circuit of Fig. 5 may be used as the frequency determining part of a Colpitts oscillator or as a filter.
