Abstract

1327198 Orienting tablets LILLY INDUSTRIES Ltd 3 Nov 1970 [3 Nov 1969] 53874/69 Heading B8S Tablets 5, Fig. 2, are swept from a circular table 10 by rotating arms 13, 14 and fall down a gap between cylinders 12, 18 on to one of a plurality of helical shoots 19. The latter are of a width sufficient only to accommodate the tablets on edge. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3, the tablets are swept off the table by a single rotating arm 35 and are counted electronically at 36, 37. A gate 39 directs tablets to a receptacle 38 or a similar one 38<SP>1</SP>, not shown. In Fig. 5, a predetermined number of tablets from shoots 44a-44c are arrested between adjustable stop bars 47, 48 in shoot portions 46a-46c and subsequently discharged into suitable receptacles.
