Equalizing load on wheels and springs; springs, arrangement of.-The end of each axle of a vehicle is connected to one end of a lateral rocking element, the other end of ,each rocking element being connected to the diagonally opposite element so as to move in the opposite direction to it. Fig. 1 shows a vehicle with four rocking-frames 9, 11, 12, 13 pivoted about axes 14 and connected to the axle at their outer ends by pairs of helical springs 16. The inner ends of the rocking-frames are slotted to engage crank-arms 19, 21 having their shafts pivoted in longitudinal bearings 24 on the chassis. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which an additional pair of springs 18 is arranged between the inner end of each rocking-frame and the chassis, and the interconnexion between the rocking- frames is effected by diagonally-extending cables 26, 27 passed over pulleys on the chassis. The pulleys may be adjustable. Fig. 6 shows another modification in which arms 30 are pivoted to the axle and chassis, tension springs 38 being arranged between the axle and the outer ends of the arms, and the arms being interconnected diagonally by crank-arms 19, 21 as in the form shown in Fig. 1.
