Abstract

1326696 Automatic exchange equipment; radio signalling COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMMUNICATIONS CIT-ALCATEL 28 May 1971 [28 May 1970] 18040/71 Headings H4K and H4L A radio-telephone system includes fixed transmitting stations (concentrators) connected to a telephone system, which stations radiate a general call code signal to indicate a free channel in a plurality of channels. Such a system is described in Specification 1,297,071. The transmitter/receiver of a mobile subscriber includes comparison circuitry which compares successively received general call codes from each concentrator channel in turn until a coincidence is obtained when that concentrator channel is adapted for the call. In the system described, the first received call code is stored, suitably in a shift register 17, compared at 17<SP>1</SP> with the subsequently received second and third call codes stored at 21 to provide signals to a counter 23 whenever the stored codes are found to be identical. In the case described if the three codes are the same that concentrator channel is seized for the connection. If they are not identical the receiver is advanced to the next free channel radiating the general call code by pulse J and a further test made. If no coincidence is found after q successive explorations of the N channels the particular concentrator is abandoned. This number of explorations precludes abandonment when transient fading or masking occurs.
